The Story Behind Lost Pines Home Improvement

Hi there! I’m Joe, the passionate woodworker behind Lost Pines Home Improvement. My love for woodworking goes beyond just a job; it’s something I’ve cultivated for over a decade. My journey began in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where my curiosity for carpentry blossomed during a summer job framing houses with my brother.

After that summer, I moved to Denver, where I spent five wonderful years. It was here that I met Sophie, my girlfriend who is now my wife. Our timing was bittersweet; Sophie was preparing to return to Germany after her work in the U.S. ended. After some heartfelt discussions, we took a leap of faith together—I moved to Germany to be with her and pursue my passion for woodworking.

During the next three incredible years in Berlin, I had the privilege of learning from a master woodworker. This experience not only shaped my skills but also instilled in me a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Upon returning to the U.S., I managed a well-respected woodshop in Austin, where I had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from custom cabinetry to high-end trim work. I thrive on transforming raw materials into beautiful, functional pieces that add character to any home.

Now, I’m proud to run Lost Pines Home Improvement alongside Sophie, who brings her own expertise and creativity to our projects. Together, we are dedicated to creating spaces that reflect your unique style and needs.

When I’m not working, I’m enjoying life as a devoted husband and proud dog dad to our sweet Italian mastiff, Abby. My family is my greatest inspiration, reminding me every day of why I love what I do.
